Join us for a night of music with these incredible artists in a home that was built in 1885 and is nestled in the history rich neighborhood of Northwest Goldberg.

I will host and open up the show with a few songs. There will be some refreshments available, but it is BYOB. The cover will be collected at the door and will be $10-15 dollars based on a sliding scale (cash apps payments will also be accepted). During the break I will give a house and garden tour!

The Dangling Participles are a Lansing-based band with a diverse repertoire ranging from indie folk and Americana to jazz and pop. For their Detroit House of Music debut, the band’s two songwriters, Tamiko Rothhorn and Austin Kaufmann, will perform as a duo. Their on-stage chemistry, rich harmonies, and contagious energy make for a lively concert experience. Instrumentally, Austin anchors the pair on guitar and harmonica, with Tamiko adding cornet and ukulele.

The Dang Ps (as their fans call them) have been hopping genres and performing around Michigan since 2015. Their first album, "Present," was released in 2018, and in 2022, the band released its sophomore album "One More Drop." Music journalist Lori Stratton (Ann Arbor) writes: “The Dangling Participles thoughtfully demonstrate authenticity throughout the 12 tracks on 'One More Drop,' which features storied lyrics, infectious multi-part harmonies and vibrant folk-jazz instrumentation.” And in his album review for the Local Spins website (Grand Rapids), reviewer Dutcher Snedeker writes, “[L]istening to this record feels like a burst of dopamine.”

Rose’s 2022 single release ‘Shoebox Island’ is a waltz with nostalgia; a dive into the ever-changing relationship we have with our past. She is currently performing in the Midwest, releasing singles, and working on a concept album set be be released in 2023. “Quite a storyteller…incredibly captivating stories.” -Ann Delisi, WDET “Words are paramount for Rose — every verse's syllable is ripe with potential for moving the story in the perfect way, or the most perfect way possible.” -Jeff Milo, The MetroTimes
